Mary C. Valachovic

President and CEO
Mary Valachovic has been working in the field of disability services for over 40 years. She began her career in New York state working at a state institution providing direct care support for people with autism and developmental disabilities. After graduating from the University of New York, Albany Mary moved to Massachusetts and since then her professional experience spans not only the state of Massachusetts but all areas of service provision. She came to The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod in early 2016.

Mary sits on The Association of Developmental Disabilities Provider’s Board of Directors, The Arc of Massachusetts Steering Committee, the ANCOR Foundation Board of Directors and serves concurrently as the Director of The Massachusetts Sibling Support Network. Mary is committed to strong, ethical, and values-based leadership. Mary’s late brother Matthew lived with a developmental disability, and will forever serve as her inspiration, both professionally and personally.

Mary lives in Plymouth and has a son Ian, a graduate of The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a daughter Grace, also a graduate of The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.



Michelle Soble

Vice President of Healthcare Services
Michelle has been a Registered Nurse for 26-years and brings experience in a variety of fields of nursing. After graduating from nursing school, Michelle worked in orthopedics at New England Baptist Hospital. She subsequently worked in long-term care and rehabilitation facilities as a visiting nurse. In 1999, Michelle began a 9-year tenure as the Assistant Director of Nursing at the Boston Higashi School in Randolph, which serves children and young adults with autism.

In 2008, Michelle delved into a career in disability services and has remained in the field. In 2016, while working as a Nurse Liaison and Trainer at the Vinfen Corporation, she began her tenure here at The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod. Michelle came to the Arc as a Medication Administration Program (MAP) trainer and consultant before moving into a part-time position in 2018. She assisted with the openings of our Acquired Brain Injury homes in Wareham, Lakeville, Marshfield, and Sandwich.

Michelle lives in North Attleboro with her 2 daughters: Madison, a nursing student at Plymouth State University, and Marissa, a proud member of the Foxborough High School Concert, Marching and Jazz bands.



 

Daniel Cosgrove

Vice President of Human Resources
Daniel Cosgrove is a Human Resource professional having spent most of
his over 25 years of progressive leadership experience in the areas of
Long-term Care Nursing and other Healthcare related industries. After
graduating from Saint Anselm College in 1995 he began his career as the
Director of Human Resources for a The John Scott House Rehabilitation
and Nursing Center in Braintree, providing HR services to two hundred
employees.

Daniel comes to the Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod with over 10
years of experience in the Human Resources and Operational Services
arenas. He has assisted businesses in positioning themselves for responsible
growth by developing focused strategies relating to recruitment and
retention, effective employee relations process, comprehensive benefit
design, and systems to ensure compliance with all federal and state HR
regulations and requirements.

Daniel and his wife Katherine currently live in Duxbury with their three
children, Sarah, Owen, and Noah.
